Children: Towards Godly Play

Children abound in our community- at one point a healthy third of us were under the age of 5 yrs. We are in the process of creating structure for our children that is intentional, honoring and inviting them into our faith story. When we meet for worship and Eucharist, children are present, with their parents and participating in the life of our community. When we engage with the Text as Scripture, we provide child care for ambulatory (walking) through 3 and 1/2 yrs old and are in the process of creating a Godly Play classroom for children ages 3 and 1/2 yrs olds and up. Older children (up to age 12) are invited to participate in the Godly Play classroom or remain with their parents.Conversations:03/10: Children’s Ministry: Conversation #104/10: Towards a Household Code / Volunteer Policy04/10: Communication to Children’s Volunteers05/10: Intro to Godly Play06/10: Godly Play Service, Phil’s Notes07/10: Wits’ End Parents and Volunteer Letter- Boundaries and 1-2-311/10: Changes Coming with Advent- 2 Classrooms, More Volunteering
