This is to introduce Casey Hobbs! He joins Wits' End Church as Writer in Residence with the hopes of bringing this blog to life and reflecting the conversations that are happening in this community. As a pastor, he also desires to help cultivate a creative writing ethos in our midst. Stay tuned for posts that will occur in dialog with the texts, sermons and discussions at Wits' End Church.
Casey is a native of Northern California and graduated with his Masters of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School in 2010. He did his undergraduate work at California Baptist University, where he studied Theology and Philosophy. His writing centers on theology and ethics and has been featured in Prism Magazine and Relevant Online Magazine. His first book, Trembling Love: Fear, Freedom, and the God Who is For Us (Wipf and Stock) was released in August of 2013.
